The popular band from Dayton, Ohio is changing their name and re-releasing their catalog in preparation for their first national release

Throughout music history, many acts have changed names before gaining national attention. The Quarrymen, The Rattlesnakes, The Hype, Mammoth… These local bands would come to be known as some of the greatest bands in music history: the Beatles, the Bee Gees, U2 and Van Halen. On Saturday, Feb. 26, popular band “Southbound,” based in Dayton, Ohio, announced that they had changed their name to “Ludlow Creek.” The name change comes on the eve of the band’s re-releases of their debut album, 2015’s “Hands Of Time” and their 2021 single, “What About Love.”

The band released a statement saying, “As you our loyal followers know, over the course of 9 years of playing classic rock covers, we have also created our own music that embodies the sound and feel of our musical influences. , and now we have decided to continue writing and performing our own material full time. Each of us in the band thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support over the years. We are truly touched by your love for us. and that love is reciprocated! we love creating and performing music – your input, feedback and sharing your life experiences with us is what keeps us going and moving forward!”

The band also released their first music video under the Ludlow Creek name, “Stoney Lonesome Road”. The song is from their upcoming album in 2022 (MTS Records.)

Formed in 2013, “Southbound” has performed numerous shows and entertained thousands of people.
