Mid Devon Singers enjoy public performances
By The Mid Devon Singers, Tiverton, Devon
The Mid Devon Singers rebooted this summer at Swallow Court, Jersey Farm, near Junction 27, enjoying singing again and welcoming many new members to this growing choir.
MiDS is having a BBQ and mini-performance at Swallow Court on Saturday September 4 and Sunday September 5, perform at the Uffculme show singing appropriately, as we begin to normalize after COVID, Here is the sun (George Harrison); (The sun will come out), tomorrow (from Annie), Castle on a cloud (Wretched), Whistle it Wind, I feel the earth moving and Will you still love me tomorrow (by Carole King) and Thanks for the music (Abba).
Their annual welcome party is Friday September 10 in Halberton. The first rehearsal for new members starting singing in September will take place on Friday September 17th at Halberton Village Hall at 7:30 p.m. (but at 7:00 p.m. for new members, who must have registered beforehand). The group is always careful to keep everyone safe and it is a prerequisite for MiDS membership whether members have suffered double hits or are undergoing regular testing.
MiDS is a social and musical group that normally meets at Halberton Village Hall. There are no auditions for the inclusive mixed choir, of all ages, which includes beginners and experienced singers from across the district and beyond, all the way to Wellington, Wiveliscombe and East Anstey; children and families are welcome and it’s free for young singers, which is why the group meets on Fridays.
MiDS normally sing a bit of everything in all styles from past to present. The band are friendly, not cliquey and just love to sing together and invite everyone to come and try their hand at singing, for free, for two or three sessions!
Anyone interested in joining is welcome and September is a great time to do so. Get in touch via email@example.com or Bernard Johns on 01884 252910 or 07855 583356, or Terry Payne (Music Director) on 01884 820081 or 07973 890947 or via Facebook.
