Metallica 2021: rock band announces surprise concert at Metro Chicago in Wrigleyville on Monday night



CHICAGO – Rock-N-Roll fans were taken aback by news of Metallica’s return to a concert in the city on Monday.

The rock band, who haven’t returned to Windy City since 1983, are scheduled to perform at Metro Chicago on Clark Street at 6 p.m. Monday, according to the band’s official website.

“It was way too much fun last week as we finally played in front of real fans live for the first time in over two years in our hometown of San Francisco. So why not start over? are in Chicago and we will take to the legendary Clark Street subway stage tonight … our first time since 1983 !! “

The surprise announcement sent fans rushing to the site for their spot.

The bracelets, which cost just $ 20, are only sold in person at the Metro Box Office on the north side of town in Wrigleyville, according to a tweet from Metro.

Participants must also show full proof of vaccination before purchasing their bracelet, with the final dose given at least 14 days ago, the site said.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and start of the show at 8:30 p.m.
