Rosh Hassanah a new year’s service; my wife [on the left] is the cantor, singing next to the rabbi; the floating guy is blowing the shofar (rams horn) traditional in bringing in the Jewish New Year. The guy outside is casting his sins into the water (Taslich) another traditional service during this holiday.

Mountain Willows North Park, CO., 24" x 36", oil This landscape is typical of the scenery as you climb out of North Park on the way to Rabbit Ears pass. A route we take many times a year on our way to Steamboat Springs. In the fall and winter the red of the willows and the sage are amazing splashes of color in an otherwise bleak time of year.
Religious Symbolism Ketubah A great wedding gift ... beautifully illustrated art of the Jewish wedding ceremony -- a husband gives his wife a Ketubah or marriage contract made by a skilled artisan. Ketubahs are typically kept by the wife for safekeeping.

In this one,  the wife is Jewish and he, Buddhist. I did a couple wedding gifts similar to this for other Jewish couples, so I substituted some of the Jewish symbols for Buddhist ones. Another is a departure from the big Mogen David and is based on a Hamsa (Hand of God) design. I accept commissions. Media: [liquid acrylic, gold ink and gold leaf on one of those heavy papers used for printing, Reeves BFK, ideally one would use parchment but it’s very expensive (to use).
